Rest and Reset: 3/17/26
A theme that came up several times this past weekend in the Westie Connection Project was the importance of discovering what you, personally, need to be successful at events and how the definition of what “successful” looks like can be just as varied.
A big part of that is how you manage the comedown, the decompression of returning to your day-to-day.
I have always enjoyed taking solo road-trips after dance events in California. While my weekends are full of obligations (lessons, judging shifts, competitions), the drive home after is a full day of self-managed alone time.
Sometimes that’s a mad dash down through the valley, but usually its a meandering drive along the Central Coast, stopping at favorite coffee shops and bookstores along 101.
That’s an invaluable reset after three straight days of non-stop social interaction.
